SIX MEN FROM ONE HOUSE. : RECORD FROM ELTHAM. Six out of tho eight "sons of Mr. H. Q. Barnard, secretary of the EHham Dairy Company, / have done service to tho 'Empire and '. the cause of civilisation, - and; the family has paid ; ; heavily in casualties for its patriotism. The eldest and third sons (..through':the Gallipoli'campaign,; and ; have returned to New Zealand wounded, and been discharged as unfit for 'further service. The second son, Harry, .who.was a' law -clerk; in /Auckland bcforo his enlistment, was also ion the peninsula, and lies sleeping ■■. close to > Suvla Bay. *k He landed on Turkish soil .with' the Main, Body,' and ,was r ;fortunate enough to get through?all dangers until the fateful -August 8, when he .was shot down while helping to carry a wounded.- comrade • to: a dressing station .The ? fourth son , saw ■ active v service "in France, ■: and is ; now.; a quartermaster-ser-geant at Sling Camp, in England. The fifth is still,facing the foe* in France" and the sixth ; has almost completed ? his New i Zealand. training, and; will ■ leave • with an early reinforcement. :,; The other two boys are not yet old enough to enlist.
