WELLINGTON, Saturday. A sale, of the sledges, stores and equipment, of the expedition .to Antarctica led by Si; Ernest Shackleton '■ was held to-day, ani produced a .total .of .'about £400. The puppies born amid the eternal snows were in great demand,: and the prices paid for them raneed from £5 to £6. The six sledges realised £2 5s each, ~Mr. Joyce, a member of. the. expedition, piirchasing;a couple of them. ■Tin, boxes of matches,':.which wero left in caches by Sir Ernest .Shackleton in 1904 in .case they ■were ■ r quired, by subsequent explorers., and which were ,dug up. from under eight feet office, realised as much, as ss' a-piece, .and a' large.mounted penguin was 'bought "for, £13/"while.,the unmounted specimens went from ■£4to £5 each. ; .... :'■•.■
