GERMAN FLAG IN SAMOA.
MILITARY GUARD APPEARS. OFFENDER IMPRISONED. News lias been received in Fiji, reports our Suva correspondent, that a German trader at Apia, Samoa, has been summarily dealt with by the local Court for flying the German fla^. It appears that this individual is the manager of a station owned by a British firm. He recently held a social gathering, which many of his countrymen attended. As a result of the convivial meeting he hoisted the German flag, and refused to haul it down when requested. TJhe military guard appeared on the scene, the flag was hauled down, and all the Germans concerned were arrested. At subsequent Court proceedings the principal offender was sentenced to two weeks' imprisonment. As a result of this case the premises of a German were searched and a supply of arms and ammunition discovered. As long ago as last December it was ordered that all arms and ammunition were to he handed over to the military authorities.
