MINISTERS' MOVEMENTS.
HON. JAMES ALLEN'S ARRIVAL.
The Hon. James Allen, Acting-Prime Minister and Minister for Defence, arrived in Auckland yesterday morning by the Main Trunk express. Ho was accompanied by his private secretary, Mr. H. Gerard. During the morning the Minister met the members of the City Recruiting Committee, and discussed matters in connection with the city recruiting staI tion and the future policy of the committee. Later he attended the reception to the Trumpet Band at the Soldiers' Club. In the afternoon, with the Hon. Arthur M. Myers, he paid a visit to Myers Park and Kindergarten. Mr. Allen originally intended to return to Wellington by to-day's Main Trunk express, but he has now made arrangements which will enable him to attend the parade of men of the eighteenth reinforcement draft in the Domain this afternoon, when lie will deliver an address. The Minister will leave for Wellington tonight by a special train. ■'. "'■ -' , The Hon. Arthur Myers, Minister for Customs, Munitions, and. Supplies, '". received a number of .private deputations yesterday at tho Minister's Room in tho post office buildings, and attended to Departmental business. He will be present at the parade- of the eighteenth reinforcement draft at the. Domain this afternoon, and will deliver an address. ;?Mr..
