SEVERAL CITIZENS KILLED AND OTHERS WOUNDED
MANY SOLDIERS REFUSE TO FIRE ON THE PEOPLE.

AMSTERDAM. July 15.
Demonstrations at Cologne on Sunday ended in riots. The military were summoned, and 20 citizens were killed, 40 being wounded. Many arrests were effected. Four policemen were killed. Many of the soldiers refused to fire on the rioters.
At Aix-la-Chapelle, 40 miles south-west of Cologne, Uhlans charged some rioters who were ransacking the shops.
