CRUELTY TO A HORSE.

TWO GERMANS IN COURT.

A case of illtreatment to a horse waj mentioned before Mr. D. G. A. Cooper, S.M., at the Wellington Magistrate's Court recently, when two young Germans, Henoch Goedecke and Albert Arthur Orel!, were charged with using an animal in a very emaciated condition. Inspector J. Henry stated in his report that the horse had no shoes on the off fore foot ring bone on both fore feet, both knees broken, sores on off shoulder and neck and sores on withers. The young men' who reside at Upper Hutt, pleaded' guilty' and were fined £3 each and 7s costs, in default 14 days' imprisonment. Inspector Henry intimated that the defendants would probably be soon interned on Somes Island.
