FRENCH REPEL SURPRISE ATTACK SOUTH OF ROYE.
VIOLENT BOMBARDMENT IN MORT HOMME REGION. PARIS. MAY 14. A communique says: "We repelled a surprise attack on our trenches southward of Roye, about 50 miles north-west of Soissons. The only event on the Verdun front was a violent bombardment in the Mort Homme region."
