BRITISH EJECT GERMANS FROM THEIR TRENCHES.
ENCOUNTER BETWEEN SCOTTISH TROOPS AND ENEMY.
High Commissioner's Cabled Message.
LONDON. MAY 14.
A British official statement says: "After very heavy bombardment by guns of all calibres on Saturday night the enemy attacked our lines at Ploegsteert Wood in three parties. One party entered our trenches, but was immediatey ejected. The three parties met on the parapet, and were expelled by the Scottish troops. One of our patrols early on Sunday morning entered the enemy trenches south of La Bassee Canal.
