TURKISH VETERANS IN THE EGYPTIAN FIGHT.
BRITISH STACKED BY A SUPERIOR FORCE. HEAVY LOSSES INFLICTED ON THE ENEMY, (Received April 27, II D.m.) London, April 26. An official statement shows that in the fighting on Sunday at Katia, Cv miles from El Kantara, Egypt, a greatly superior force, consisting of 1000 Germans and also picked Turkish cavalry, which had fought at Adrianople in the Balkan war, and at Helles, forced the Gloucestershire Hussars and Warwickshire and Worcestershire Yeomanry to retire. The latter fought a severe rearguard action, inflicting heavy losses. The Worcestershires captured prisoners owing to the Turks' horses being shot. Oaly 1000 of the enemy remain at Katia oasis. On Tuesday enemy aeroplanes dropped bombs on Port Said. .
