DESPERATE RESISTANCE TO RUSSIAN ADVANCE. RUSSIANS CAPTURE HILLS SOUTH .OF TREBIZOND. London, April 26. The latest reports from Armenia show that the ■ Turks are endeavouring to concentrate between Trebizond and Erzeroum. The Russians captured the valleys and mountains north of Baiburt, 60 miles south and east of Trebizond, after a series of splendid assaults. Tre operations were oil the most difficult nature owing to the lack of roads over the snow-covered hills compelling the guns to be transported by hand. The Turks have been strongly reinforced, and arc- desperately resisting the advance.
