WAIHI GRAND JUNCTION. £16,066 FROM 10,300 TONS. TOTAL TO DATE. £1,233,177. For the period ended April 15 tho Waihi Grand Junction Gold Company, Ltd., treated • 10,300 tons for a return of bullion valued at £16,066 2s lOd. Compared with the figures for the corresponding period of last year, when 10,010 tons yielded £17,573 4s 2d, the present return shows a decrease of £1507 Is 4d. No. 3 Rise (at 780 ft) has been put up 27ft; the average assay value is £3 per ton."

KEEP-IT-DARK MINE. PURCHASE BY CHRISTCHURCH SYNDICATE. [BI TELEGBAPE.— CORRESPONDENT,] i''nitiSTCHUßcn, Thursday. The old Keep-it-Dark mine at Rcefton has been purchased by a syndicate of Christchurch gentlemen. The " Dark," as it is called in Reefton, has returned £153,176 in dividends, and its original capital was about £7000. The new owners, who include Mr. J. B. Laurenson, Mayor of Sumner, and Mr. R. Wilson, managing director of tho Boatman's Consolidated, intend to work the property on the most scientific lines.

WAIHI. The following cablegram has been despatched to the London office of the Waihi Gold Mining Company No. 11 level, Edward lode: Driving south frjm Sprat crosscut, 31ft was driven, 521 ft to 552 ft, value 7s 6d a ton; Empire lode, east of Bath crosscut, 32ft was driven, 392 ft to 424 ft, value 27s 9d a ton; Royal lode, west of Princess drive, 36ft was driven, 20ft to 56ft, value 9s 6d a ton."

NEW WAITAIA. The manager of the New Waitaia mine, Kuaotunu, reports that both stopes above tho low level are showing a good deal of country rock intermixed with the ore, and values have decreased. Above the intermediate level the front stope is carrying about 9in of payable ore showing visible gold. The ore in the back stope is still very rough and of low grade. At the intermediate level, in the Mountain King section, the reef has carried fair oro for the last 9ft, but a leader is striking across the face. Generally the reef is much more erratic than usual at ti.is section of the mine and changes very quickly., UNITED. The pipe line bench in the United mine, Maratoto, is nearly finished. The manager reports that the precipitating house is now covered in. The pipes will be laid on without delay.
