HOCKEY.
PRIMARY SCHOOL MATCHES. Tho annual meeting of masters interested in the gamo of hockey m primary schools will be held at Mr. Norton's office, Security Buildings, on Saturday. It is hoped that a full attendance will be possible, and those schools that have not previously taken the gamo up are particularly requested to send a representative. I- most schools there are many boys not engaged in football or other winter sports who miss a great deal of enjoyment. Bovs in schools where the same has been well established look forward to their Saturday morning's hockey, arid the universal opinion of the masters is that the game is an excellent one tor schoolboy?. Apart from the physical benefits derived, it teaches resourcefulness and quickness- It is a game that could bo materially extended in the schools with advantage to the boys.
PRIMARY SCHOOL OLD BOYS. The annual meeting of the Primary School Old Boys' Hockey Club will bo held at Mr. Norton's office, Security Buildings, tomorrow. A full attendance is desired, especially of those boys who are this year ineligible for school hockey. An attempt will be made to enter an extra team from last season's representative players. LADIES' ASSOCIATION. The annual meeting of tho Auckland Ladies' Hockey Association is advertised for to-night f,t eight o'clock at the Training College, Wellesley Streot East. All delegates and meraUrs are invited, especially tb.089 of new clubs. The report, which will bo presented at the annual meeting of the Auckland Ladies Hockey Association, states that tho past season was a very satisfactory one from all points of view. Ton clubs and two subassociations affiliated for the, year. Four teams were entered in the senior, and eight in the second grade competitions, tho majority of the matches being well tontested and interesting. Mount Eden won the senior championship, meritoriously defeating Training College, winner of four consecutive championships. Wkakatu won the second grade competition. . . During tho year a largo number. of club members partook of a course of training in Red Cross work in connection with the Women's Branch of the National Reserve. The instruction proved interesting and useThe committeo desired to record the fact that Mr. H. A. E. Milnes, for several years vice-president and chairman of tho executive of the association, had enlisted tor active service, and stated its appreciation of the splendid assistance and sympathy rendered to ladies' hockey and to the association by him The committee asked him to accept its heartiest wishes for his welfare and safe return to New Zealand. As disclosed by the balance-sheet, the finances of the association are in a healtny condition. There are no liabilities, and assets amount to £11 lis Wd, of which £9 Os lOd represents cash in bank.
