METHODIST CHURCH.
AVONDALE CIRCUIT MEETING.
At the quarterly meeting of the Avondale Methodist circuit, held at Mount Albert, there was a good attendance. The Rev. Lewis Hudson presided. The Rev. A J. Small, the veteran missionary, chairman of the Fiji district, was present as a, visitor. Mr. Dent, a Cliff College student, who has arrived to take up work at Henderson, was also welcomed. Since last meeting, Mr. Fletcher, Home Missionary at Henderson, had removed, with a view to enlistment. The membership returns showed little change. The financial position was good. The circuit had raised for all purposes during the quarter the sum of £650, leaving a credit balance on the Circuit Fund of £9. The Mount Albert Sunday-school bad raised £120 towards the Wounded Soldiers' Fund, and retiring collections towards the funds of the Mount Albert Orphanage had realised £24. In a review by the chairman of the year's work, mention was made of the renovation and enlargement of the Henderson Church, and of the reduction, by £500. of the debt on the Mount Albert property. The annual election of officers resulted as follows :—Circuit stewards. Messrs. A. H. White and G. W. Turlev ; delegates to conference, Messrs. A. H. White and J. E. Astlev, with Messrs. R.
