UTILITY OF THE MOTOR-CAR.

The utility of the motor-car for towelling in New Zealand is exemplified by the trip taken by Mr. Walter Powdrell during the Christmas holidays to the Hawke's Bay and Bay of Plenty districts, states the Hawera Star. Starting from Wairoa on the homeward journey at four o'clock in the morning, Hawera was reached at half-past eight o'clock in the evening, a distance of about 320 miles. In the ordinary way this journey would take two or three days.
