STOCKS AND SHARES.
EXCHANGE REOPENS. The Auckland Stock Exchange reopened yesterday after being closed for tho holidays since December 24. There was not much movement noticeable in prices, which in most cases were well maintained. Bank of New Zealands, new issue, were placed on the market at £16 10s, but no buyers como forward. New Zealand Insurances came in for inquiry at £6 3s, with no declared sellers. A sale of Auckland Gas was reported at 30s, the market closing at 29s 9d and 30s 3d, buyers and sellers respectively. Among mining shares Waihis had buying offers at 36s 3d, but there were no sellers under 38s. Waihi Grand Junctions were in demand at 19s, with sellers at the last call at 20s. Talisman Consolidateds were quoted ex dividend at 15s and 16s, buyer and seller respectively. AUCKLAND STOCK EXCHANGE. Closing Sales, Dec. 24. a , , £ s. d.
