AUCKLAND HOSPITAL BOARD.
m ■ An ordinary meeting of the Auckland Hospital and Charitable Aid Board was held last evening. There wee present :— Messrs. M. J. Coyle, chairman, S. J. Harbutt, P. J. Nerheny. W. Wallace, P. M. Mackay, G. Knight, F. Dye, E. H. Potter, A. Hall Skelton, and J. G. Rutherford. The suggestion of the district health officer that the board should pay half the salary of the district nurse at Helensville, was referred to the Finance Committee for report. The amount the board was asked to pay was £75 per annum. The acting-medical superintendent wrote suggesting that the present lecturers and examiners at the hospital be retained until the present shortage of medical men in Auckland became less acute. He recommended that Mr. Kenneth Mackenzie be asked to take Mr. Carrick Robertson's place as lecturer until the latter's return. The suggestions of Dr. Grant were adopted, and the appointments "were made for a further term of two years.
