SINKING OF THE ANCONA.
AMERICAN DEMANDS.
COMPENSATION FOR LIFE. Washington, December 8. The United States Government has again demanded that Austria shall disavow responsibility for the sinking of the Italian steamer Ancona, make reparation for the American lives lost, and give an assurance that such an act shall not be repeated. The press is highly indignant at American weakness and supiness in sending a second Note to Austria.
