FIFTY YEARS AGO.
CITY WATER SUPPLY. DOMAIN RESERVOIR. (From the IIKEALD of December 9, 1865.) Foe years the inhabitants of this city have felt each summer the want of a supply, not of pure water, but of water at all. It wul be with no small feeling of pleasure that the public have ret iced a number of iron pipes laid along Queen Street, as high up as the old Supreme Court-house. A quantity of the piping is already laid from the reservoir in the Domain, and before long Auckland will enjoy, if not a sufficiency of pui* water, at any rate a very acceptable makeshift' until a regular supply shall hare been introduced
