MOTOR BUSES FOR PARNELL.
Sir, —Some time ago a motor-'bua service was started by the Tramways Company, between the tram stop at St. Stephen's Avenue, Parnell, to the Parnell Park, but after a fair trial it was found that the servico did not pay, and it was consequently discontinued, nevertheless a regular motor-'bus service would be a great convenience to people living in the vicinity of Gladstone Road, as well as to those living in other parts of the city "who wished to visit the Parnell Park or the salt-water swimming baths at Point Resolution. I believe that the real reason why the late service did not pay was because it was not run in the right direction. I therefore suggest that a motor'bus be given another trial to this part of the city, but that instead of running between the Park and the top of St. Stephen's Avenue, it should run between the Park and Stanley Street, via Cleveland Road, the King's Drive, round the newly.formed road that comes out at the railway bridge in Mechanics' Bay to Stanley Street, where passengers could alight and take the tram to the city. If the 'buses coming from Stanley Street continued on past the Pampll Park, up Gladstone Road and down St. Stephen's Avenue to the Point Resolution baths, the service would. *1 think, pay still better, particularly on Saturdays and holidays. C. P. W. Longdill. Gladstone Road, ParnelL
