ADVANCES TO FARMERS

The Government has arranged for the Railway Department to issue certificates to farmers for wheat delivered on railway premises. The banks have consented to make advances against these certificate* in order to relieve farmers of financial strain. Though the Government is guaranteeing 4s a bushel it wfll not pay the difference between that and the ruling price. It will pay the guaranteed price | provided that notice ie given before I December 1, when it will take over the handling of wheat.
