ESCAPE FROM GAOL.
PRISONER AWAITING TRIAL.
[BY TELEGRAPH. PRESS ASSOCIATION'.] Dttnedin, Tuesday. A man* named John Daniel Black, awaiting trial on a charge of attempting to commit a serious assault on a young woman escaped from gaol to-day. He went from the exercise yard into another yard, and scaled a wall 15ft high. His disappearance was noticed about five minutes later but so far he has not been recaptured.
