FRENCH EXPENDITURE.

£83,000,000 MONTHLY.

IMPORTANT LOAN PENDING.

Paris, September 28.

A Senate memorandum shows that the total credits received and pending amount to £1,200,000,000. The expenditure for the past three months, including that on the war, was £74,800,000 monthly. It is estimated that the monthly expenditure for the coming quarter will be £83,000,000.

The chairman of the Finance Committee announced that an important loan was pending. Hitherto they had met expenditure without much difficulty, but a more radical solution was necessary.
