NEW WAITING-ROOM.
The meeting of the Auckland Harbour Board, held yesterday afternoon, was |f£ attended by Messrs. H. D. Heather,'chair- ~ ; man, G. R. Hutchinson, A. J. Entrican, T. B. Arthur, P. J. Nexbeny/EC J. Carr, W. Wallace, W. B. Leyland, F. Quin, H. R. Mackenzie, and W. E. Hutchison. The Stanley Bay Ratepayers' Associa- - tion asked the board to shorten and widen the Stanley Bay-Wharf, and also to im- |§ prove - the - accommodation for -passengers;" Jw The engineer reported that the, present : waiting-room; could be altered and a new one built for £50. " „,-,--' ---J The chairman moved that a reply-be:-sent stating that the board at present wag unable to undertake the work asked for;: also, - that ' the suggestion of : the ', engineer ' be adopted. The matter came before tie ,' board in July, 1913, when an estimate was prepared showing that the cost of altering 7 < ' ; -~- the wharf ; would £1800,- while the 1 re-" '-': quired dredging would cost something like'' £3500. v He understood that "the Bate-" payers' ; Association 5 recognised that the "> present ' was not altogether a suitable time -?
