NEW COMMITTEE FORMED.
MR. ASQUITH'S APPOINTEES.

.A Reuter message from London states that Mr. H. H. Asquith has appointed a special committee charged with the oversight of the war, consisting of himself, Earl Kitchener, Mr. Lloyd George, Mr. A. J. Balfour, Sir Edward Grey, Marquis of Lansdowne, Mr. J.' Bonar Law, and Mr. Winston Churchill. The committee will absorb the functions of the Cabinet's Dardanelles Committee.

The Daily Chronicle states that Mr. Asquith's new committee has been entrusted with the supervision of the general conduct of the war. The Chronicle adds: The appointment of the committee implies that the war will be waged on our part with more vigour.
