CAPTURE OF PRISONERS AND GUNS. LESS ACTIVITY ON THE DVINSK FRONT. ' - (Received September 28, 12.30 a-m.) Petrograd, September 27. A communique states: " The position on the Dvinsk front is quieter- There were many enemy attacks near Vileika, east of Vilna. These were repulsed. We carried with the bayonet the fortified village of Ostroff, north-west of Vileika. We crushed the enemy's desperate resistance ' near Podlugie, eastward of Novo Grodek, and captured 600 Germans, machine-guns, two supply columns, artillery ammunition, and munitions. We also captured the village of Grodiugie. Further south we drove back the Germans across the Strumane."
