RAILWAYS CONSTRUCTION.
NEW SECTIONS AUTHORISED. BILL BEFORE PARLIAMENT.. [BY TELEGRAPH. —SPECIAL COBEESPOXDEifT.] Wellington; Monday. The construction of ..various new sections of railway along routes already decided upon and in course of preparation is authorised by the Railways Authorisation BUI, intro- '•- duced in the House to-night by Gov- I. ernor's Message. The sections particularly ft; specified are as follows:— " Paeroa-Pokeno route: A length of about six miles from the authorised line at Paeroa to a point in Block 11., Waihou Survey District. East Coast Main Trunk route: A length of about 24£ miles from the end of the : authorised line at Athenree to the end of %% the authorised line at Wairoa River; a length of about 2&i miles from the end of - the authorised fine at Taneatua to Opotiki; and a third section of about 93 " miles from the end of the authorised line at Hangaroa to the end of the authorised line in Block HI.;-Puketapu Survey District A branch line ■of about two miles to a wharf on the left bank of the Wairoa River, opposite Wairoa town, is also pro- - = posed. - -■ •* South Island Main Trunk :.jA S length of about 13 miles from the end of the authorised line at Kekerangn to the Clarence.. River. Lawrence-Roxburgh route: A section of about-, 15 miles from the end of the authorised ' line at Beaumont to ( the ; northern boundary: of - Block 111., Benger Survey District
