SOCIETY OF ACCOUNTANTS.
» ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of the Auckland j branch of *he New Zealand Society of I Accountants was held on Thursday even- j ing. Mr. H. C. Tewsley presided.
The annual * report showed that the membership of the branch is now 445.
Officers were elected as follows:—' Chairman, Mr. Tewsley, re-elected ; com- | mittee, Messrs. A. W. Jeavons, W. B. I Kirkwood, W. Mclnnes, and A. D. Stewart, with Messrs. W. H. Hemingway, G. H. Hutchison, and H. C. Tewsley! members ex officio as councillors of the ! society. Mr. Sanson, of Hamilton, urged that the ! council should take further steps regarding j unregistered persons practising* as accountants.
Resolutions were passed recommending the council of the society to make a further grant to the Patriotic Association, and asking the council to considerablv rednce the expenditure on administration." It was decided to institute a roll of honour of members on active service.
