COMMANDER'S IDENTITY.

(Received September 18, 1.20 a.m) London, September 17.

The submarine E7, which has been sunk in the Sea of Marmora, was commanded by Lieutenant-Com-mander A. W. Cochrane, who was formerly in command of the Dl and was mentioned in the despatches concerning the action in the Heligoland Bight on August 28 as having been in contact with the enemy. Sub-Lieutenant Twyman, who was on the E7, had received the Distinguished Service Cross.
