BRITISH SUBMARINE LOST AT DARDANELLES.
E7 sunk AND CREW MADE prisoners.
GERMAN CLAIM PRESUMED TO BE CORRECT.
London, September 16. The Admiralty has issued an official statement that the enemy claims that submarine E7 was sunk at the Dardanelles and that her crew of three officers and 25 men were taken prisoners. This is presumed to be correct, as the vessel has not been heard of since September 4.
When last heard of previously the E7 was commanded by LieutenantCommander F. E. B. Feilmann. This submarine wag mentioned in the official reports of the action with he German sauadron in Heligoland Bitrht on August 28 last year as having been m contact with the enemy when the Mainz, Ariadne and Koln were destroyed. '
The E7 was launched in 1912. She had three torpedo tubes.
