BRITISH CASUALTIES AT THE DARDANELLES.
TOTAL OFFICIALLY GIVEN AT 37,632. DESPATCH RECEIVED F3OM SIR lAN HAMILTON. London, September 16. It is officially announced that the number of men killed and wounded in the Dardanelles operations up to August 21 totals 87,632, made up as follows:— Officers. Men. £ llet \, , 1,130 16,478 Wounded ... 2,371 59,259 Missing ... ... 373 8,021 The casualties at the Dardanelles from July 28 to August 21 were 38,392. The British casualties in all theatres of war during the same period numbered 60,093. In the House of Commons to-day Mr. Asquith stated that he had just received a despatch from General Sir lan Hamilton, Com-mander-in-Chief at the Dardanelles. This would be published as soon as possible.
