WOOL IN BRITAIN.

ESTIMATES EXCEEDED.

QUANTITY TO SPARE.

(Received September 17, 11 p.m.)

London, September 16.

Since the estimate of the wool available for export was made at the end of last month, the War Trade Department has learned that invisible stocks in the west riding of Yorkshire are considerable. The Department has now, therefore, decided that 125,000 bales of crossbred and similar wool, of which 50,000 are English, can be spared, and is prepared to consider applications for licenses to export to approved destinations.
