THREATENING TO SHOOT.
DAIRYMAN AND HEALTH OFFICER
[BY TELEGRAPH.— PRESS ASSOCIATION*.] C hristchtrch, Friday. Andrew Topping;, formerly a dairyman at- Ashburton, entered the District Health Office yesterday, and threatened to shoot the health officer, Dr. Chesson. Meeting Inspector McKenzie, Topping told him he would shoot the doctor and himself afterwards. The ma 1 kept banging about the office, and Inspector McKenzie found it necessary to hand him over to the police. Topping was brought before Mr. Bishop, S.M., charged with threatening to shoot Dr. Chesson. Defendant was bound over to keep the peace for twelve months, and ordered to find sureties of £100.
