INSTITUTE OF SURVEYORS

PUBLIC WORKS TENDERS.

The monthly meeting of the local committee of the New Zealand Institute of Surveyors was held on Wednesday evening, when there was a large and enthusiastic attendance of members. Various matters of interest to the profession were discussed, among them being the question of compiling an accurate list of all licensed land surveyors for insertion in the various directories. The increased tendency to united action on matters of mutual interest among the surveyors is becoming very noticeable. The question of public works tenders was again brought up, and it was reported that a conference had been held in Wellington between the Public Works Department and the council of the New Zealand Institute of Surveyors,' which it was hoped would satisfactorily settle all difficulties.
