In view of a suggestion that political differences in South Africa should be set aside and that the Unionists should support- the Ministerialists, Sir Thomas Smartt, leader of the Unionist Party, wrote to Mr. Duncan, member for Fordsburg, agreeing to" the necessity of unwaveringly and unstintedly supporting the Government until final victory is won.
