CLAIM FOR COMMISSION.
TRANSACTION IN LAND. [BY TELEGRAPH.— PRESS ASSOCIATION*.] Christchttrch, Friday. Judgment was given in the Supreme Court to-day by His Honor, Mr. Justice Dennis ton, in the case of Thomas and Graham, of Te Kuiti, versus the Hop Kins, Diamond, and Scott Syndicate, of Christchurch. Plaintiffs sold land in Te Kuiti for defendants, and claimed £470 commission under the Auckland scale. Defendants contended that the commission should bo £210, under the Cliristchnrcb scale. The agreement provided that the commission should bo at the usual rates. Hie Judge held that where an agent was told that the usual commission would be paid it must mean the scale in the district in which the land was situated, and where the agent did his business. Judgment was given for plaintiff for the full amount.
