AKARANA RIFLE CLUB.
j A SUCCESSFUL YEAR. TirE annual meeting of the. Akarana Defence Rifle Club was held on Wednesday night. The report showed that the club had experienced a successful year. The club roll of honour of past and present members container! the names of 20 men who were either fighting for their country or had enlisted. After the adoption of , the report and balance-sheet, officers for ! the romiug year were elected as follows.- — President, Mr. YC. S. Moore; vice-presi-dent. Mr. H. Doughty; committee. Meesn-. F. .1. H. Carrington. C. J. Smith. A. J. Lctham, E. Pountnev, A. Patrick, J. 1-". Atkinson, and F. W. strung: audit, it. Mr. A. (t Maugham secretary and treasurer. Mr. S. Elliott. Mr. F." J. H. Carrington, who acted as the clubs secieiary for six yews, was elexted a life member 01 the club. It was decided to open the season on Saturday. September 4. 'A ith teams' matches.
