An important announcement in connection with the Auckland-Sydney direct passenger and cargo- service has just been made by the Union Steam Ship Company. The new arrangement provides for a regular weekly connection with Sydney, in con junction with the Huddart-Parker steamer Riverina. Commencing on Monday next, the service will again be maintained weekly. The Navua will sail at 5.30 p.m. on that day, and will return again on Sunday, June 27, when she will be withdrawn. The subsequent sailings after the Navua will be made by the Westralia on June 21, the Niagaradue from Vancouver on June 27— June 28, Riverina on July 5, Mamma on July 12, Riverina on July 19, Mnkura on July 26, Riverina on August .2. From Samoa the .Una will proceed to Suva and then to Svdney. to take up the Tofua's running in the Sydney-South Sea Island trade. 'I he Atua will remain in that trade for the future. On the Navua's return to Auckland from Sydney on Sunday. June 27. she will withdraw from the service. She will remain here until Monday.
