Despite inclement weather, the Hnuhora Hall .Was filled on Saturday evening when an 'address wag delivered by Sir Joseph Ward. , The sneaker, who was heartily cheered, outlined th« policy of the Opposition • Party. The Reform Party, h*jrotrarked, had ador-ted tho policy, of his I party anal now claimed it as its own. He considered that the North required a Main Trunk railway line with lighter lines acting as feeders. Sir Joscuh quoted figures which, he i-aid, proved that his policy had always helped tile small settler by giving lim cheap land and easy loans by which the country had been developed and its ! productiveness increased. - (.'".'.'-,' Mr. Menzies. Opposition candidate, bi.'efly addressed the meeting. He said ho considered it an honour to stand in the Opposition interest, and as .•he had lived in t)» North so long he was conversant with its wants. He advocated the O.R.P. land* tenure, but was against land syndicates. A vote of thanks and confidence in both speakers wa9 carried amidst cheering. Sir Joseph Ward and his party later drove to Waihopo and attended ft farewell social tendered to the men who are leaving for i'rentham. Mr. Menzies and Mr. Witty briefly addressed the men. The party left Houhora on Sunday morning to continue tho campaign further south.
