WAIKATO WINTER SHOW.
FORMAL OPENING TO-DAY.
YitoM the public standpoint the annual show at Hamilton of the Waikato Winter [Show Association, which will bo formally opened by the Prime Minister to-day, will this year be more interesting than ever. Among the competitions run by the association will l)o one for a Shetland pony, and another for a gig; while « large cheese weighing a quarter of a ton, specially made for the association, will bo disposed of in quantities to suit purchasers. The cheese is weighted with gold and silver coins of varying sires, and while in the cjieese itself purchasers will get full value for their money, they also stand a chance iof securing a lucky cut. Every afternoon and evening music will he discoursed, while on Saturday, which is to bo a special patriotic day, national airs of the allied countries will be the feature of the musical programme. The profits from several sections of the show will be given to the Hospital Ship Fund.
