Corporation Notices. j TJOROUGH OF MOUNT EDENPnblio Notice is hereby given that the Mount Eden Borough Council, in pursuance of its powers under "The Municipal Corporations Act, 1908," and Amendments, "The Rating Act, 1908," and Amendments, "The Hospital and Charitable Aid A«, 1909," and Amendments, "The Auckland and Suburban Drainage Act, 1908, J.he Local Bodies' Loans Act,, 1913," ™*<» other powers enabling it. intends, on MONDAY, tho 31st day of May, 1916, to make and levy for the year which commenced on April 1, 1915, and ends on March 31, 1916:1. A Generul Rate of Is 8d in the £. 2. A Hospital and Chantablo Aid Rate of 2d in the £. „ ~«•„. 3. An Auckland and Suburban Drainage Bato of '2td in the £ on the ratable , value of all ratable properties appearing I on the Valuation Roll for the Borough of Mount Eden. . . i. A Sanitation Rate for the removal of house refuse of Id (one penny) in the £ upon the ratable value of all properties appearing in the Valuation Roll for the Borough of Mount Edon on I which a house is or may hereafter be erected, excluding that portion of tho Borougii lying south of Wainto Road on the Mount Eden Road, and south of Kensington Avenue on the Dominion Road, produced in a straight line to the western borough Boundary. 5 That the Special Rates struck and recurrent to provide the interest and sinking-funds on Borough Loan No. ,4. No 5. No. 6, No. 7, and No. 8 remain as struck, but that only an amount sufficient to meet requirements bo collected as follows:— (a) On Borough Loans No. 4 and No 8 of £31,700 and £3170, a Special Rate of 3d in the £. (b) On Borough Loans No. 5 and No. 0, of £1600, a Special Rate of. Id in the £■ , „ (c) On Borough Loans No. 7 and INo. 9 of £42.000 and £4200, a Special Rate of lid in tho £. On the rotable value .of la ratable properties appearing on the Valuation 801 l for the Borougii of Mount Eden. j 6. That tho Special Rates struck and recurrent to provide the interest and sinking-fund on Water Loans NM. 1, 2 and 3 remain as struck, but mat only an amount sufficient to meet requirements bo collected as follows :— (a) For No. 1 Water District, a Rate of Ud in the i. . . (b) For No. 2 Water District, a Rate of Id in the £. (e) For No. 8 Water District, a Rate of 5d in the £. On the ratable value of all ratable properties appearing in the Valuation Koll in each of the said respective Water District* The above-mentioned Rates, and the Non-consumers' Water Rates hereafter mentioned, to be payable in one sum on the Ist day of July, 1915, to the Collector appointed by tho Borough Council at the Council Chambers, Valley Road. Mount Eden. WATER RATES. Further, notice is hereby given that the said Council, in pursuance of such powers enabling it in that behalf, intends on MONDAY, the 31st day of May, 1910, to make and levy for the year commencing July 1. 1915. and ending June 30, 1916, the following Water Rates in respect to ordinary supply: Upon all lands and buildings to which water is supplied, but no meter has been installed for the measurement of the quantity used, the annual value of which land and buildings as appearing in the Valuation Roll does not exceed £12 10s, a rate of 10b; and, exceeding £12 10s, then at the rate of 5 per centum on such annual value, plus 5s for each bath in use on the premises. The said Rate to be payable at the Council Chambers, Valley Road, Mount Eden, in two equal half-yearly instalments, the first upon July 1, 1915, and the second on January 1, 1916, to the Collector appointed by the Council. Upon all lands and buildings to which water is supplied by moter for ordinary supply, a Rate equivalent to is Bd per 100Q gallons i\Bod, but such rate to bo not less than £1 per annum The said Minimum Rate of £1 to be paid in advance at this Council Chambers. Valley Road, Mount Eden, to the Collector appointed by the Council, and the balance of such rate at the time the meter is read. NON-CONSUMERS' RATE. On all ratable property to which water can be, but is not, supplied, situate within 100 yds from any part of- the waterworks, a Rate of one-half of the rates above-mentioned. To be payable with the General and Special Rates in one instalment, such rate being for the year ending September 30, 1915. The estimates upon which the Rates above-mentioned are being struck having been approved by tho Council, are, together with the Rate Book, open for inspection in the Town Clerk's Office during office hours.
