London, May 9.

A correspondent estimates that 3000 Turkish prisoners have been taken. The enemy is strongly entrenched on commanding heights in the western extremity oft he peninsula, and is surrounded by allied troops. Several positions have been taken at the point of the bayonet. The allies are drawing in an enveloping circle, 'She Turkish defence is weakening under the fire of warships and artillery, and the ultimate capture of the positions is certain. Reports from Mitylene state that 10,000 Turks wounded in the last two battles have been transported to Constantinople.
