Germany has "threatened to : prohibit a continuance of relief to the Belgian*' if Wtoaymen persist, in their refusal to work under , the Germans, The German authorities have already arrested. the Burgomaster and a Senator at Nivolle for continuing the relief against orders.

COLLECTION FOR SOLDIERS.
'' London, May 6. The boroughs, throughout the United Kingdom are holding a "pound day" to collect food and fruit for the Belgian soldiers in the trenches and in hospitals.

OFFERS OF £500 INVITED.

In connection with Belgian Day on May 14, organising is now proceeding throughout the State. Mr. Hugh J. Ward, the actor-manager, has offered £500 if 19 others will do the name. Already 11 have responded to his appeal.
