MOTOR-BOAT ASSOCIATION.
The committee of the New Zealand Powerboat Association met in the club rooms. Ferry Buildings, on Wednesday evening. Commodore Palmer presided and there iru a full attendance of members. Two challenges were received for the 7J-knos pennant flag now held by Mr. 3. Goodwill's motor-launch Lizard. One was from A. li. Bentley's Sister Dora and the other from Mr. Cunningham's Elsma. It was decided to run these races on January 30. Arrangements for the harbour races to be held on January 30 are well in hand, and aa most of the launches will be in good trim for Regatta Day, keen racing is anticipated. The Kean Cup will be run twice round the club's new 3'-knot course, from the end of the Railway Wharf, and will be a general handicap. Three class races, red, white, and blue, have also been provided for once round the 31-knot course. Entries close next Wednesday evening at the club rooms when challenges will also be received for any cf the pennant flags. The officials for the day will be:—Timekeepers, the rear-com~nodore and the secrc tary; starter and judge, Mr. J. W. Ross. Afternoon tea will be provided, and the association extends a hearty invitation to the members and their friends.
