JERMYN STREET SCHEME.

EARLY START POSSIBLE

It is possible that the .Termyn Street scheme to provide a new traffic outlet from the city will he put in hand shortly. The Mayo: - has asked the city engineer to report, to the Works Committee of the City Council next Thursday as to when he will ho able to commence actual operation? in lO.'ineition with the scheme. During the next two months the Mayor proposes to give special attention to this work, and he expressed the. hope that a good start would be made with the scheme before hi.- term of office expired. He looked upon the Jermyn .Street scheme as the most important work the council had undertaken in the past few years.
