FRENCH SUBMARINE LOST.

MISSING IN DARDANELLES. REPORTED SUNK BY TURKS. Paris, January 19. An official announcement states that the French submarine S'aphir is missing in the Dardanelles. According to the foreign press she was sunk by the Turks, who rescued part of the crew.

The missing submarine was launched in 1908, and lias a displacement, oi about 400 tons. She carries six torpedo t abes, and can steam about 12 knots on the surface.
