PLIGHT OF THE WOUNDED.
FIVE DAYS IN GOODS TRUCKS.
NO MEDICAL ATTENTION.
Venice, December 31.
A thousand wounded soldiers have arrived at Meran, in the Tyrol, from Galicia in an indescribable conditicm. They are almost reduced to skeletons, and journeyed for five days in goods trucks without heat, and almost without food and without medical attention.
They endeavoured to bind up each other's wounds. Their sufferings were aggravated by intense cold and insufficient; clothing. The majority of the wounds are gangrenous, and wholesale amputations are necessary.

HONOUR THROUGH TRIALS.
Vienna, December 31.
Tho Emperor Francis Joseph sent a message to the army and navy declaring he was confident that their proved warlike spirit would enable them to emerge with honour from any trials, however severe.
