TAKAPUNA COUNCIL.
The Takapuna Borough Council met last evening. Present: The Mayor, Mr. W. Blomfield, and Messrs. R. S. H. Biss, H. H. Adams, J. Collins, E. E. Grimwade, A. Raynes, and Dr. Fuller-ton. A letter was received from the owners of land offered to the council as a park, asking the council to approve of plans for cutting up the land. Just prior to the outbreak of hostilities in Europe the land was under offer to the council, but when the war started the council decided that it could not go on with the acquisition of the property in question. Last evening the Mayor stated that he was very sorry nothing could be done to save the land tor a park. Mr. Grimwade moved that the plans be approved, and the Mayor moved an additional resolution that a special committee should wait upon the owners and ascertain if the matter could not remain in abeyance and the property be kept intact until such time as the council could see its way to consider the. acquisition of the land. Both resolutions were passed.
