AveriU. in the Theatre Royal,. Taumnrunui. on behalf of the Belgian fund. H" quoted many extracts from the works of the German author Nietzche, and traced the connection between what, he deliberately called those devilish doctrines and the outrages perpetrated in Belgium. The Rev. J. E. Ward and Mr. Gardiner also gave addresses. The Mayor of Taumarimui, Mr. £. W. Simmons, presided. A collection was taken up, which amounted to over £16. ASSISTANCE FROM FEILDING. Over £600 was realised.

An enthusiastic public meeting, convened by the Mayor in aid of the Belgian Relief Fund, was held here yesterday. Mrs. Banks's offer to allow the use of her property " Gwynnelands " for a garden fete and gymkhana in aid of the fund was accepted with thank?. -Prob- ' ably a popular concert will be held in the Town Hall in the evening. An executive of nine ladies, with Dr. Caldwell as i chairman, was appointed to draw up a programme and make all the arrangements for the function, which will be held on Monday, November 30. The townships in A locality are making a splendid response to the appeal of the Mayor of Auckland for funds for the relief of the Belgians. Collectors at Manunui, in a few hours, raised £20, chiefly among the sawmill hands. A concert in aid of the fund is also to be held I there.
