I A correspondent has written to the Mayor of Auckland suggesting that funds raised to relieve distress at Home should not be sent, out of the Dominion. The writer considered that it would be wiser to send some of the contributions in kind in the shape of mutton, butter, etc. The New Zealand fanners would, by this means, secure a. good price for their products and the actual money would he retained in the country. If the Belgians needed money the correspondent states that the products could be sold in London. Mr. Parr has forwarded the letter to the Belgian Belief Committee 4,,. _-. Tenders are invited by the Public Works Department for the construction of a railway bridge over the Kaituna River, in the Tauranga district.
