Mail Niagara to-day reaches London December 20. Wildman's, Shortland St., for N.Z. Xmas cards and view books. The complaints made by dependents of members of the expeditionary force that the Defence Department had not forwarded money due to them was answered by the Hon. J. Allen, in a telegram sent to the Mayor, Mr. C. J. Parr, C.M.G., on Saturday. The Minister states that the money in many cases had been actually forwarded some considerable time ago. This appeared to be the case in regard to nearly all of the complaints sent from Auckland. The suggestion is made that owing to mistakes in the address postal officials were unable to deliver the letters, and were, therefore, holding them until called for. In view of this inquiry should be made at the post office by those who had not received the allowances due. The St. Cecelia Choir, the largest ladies' choir in Australasia, will give its second concert of the season in the Town Hall next Monday evening. The.box plan opens at Messrs. Wildman and Arey'a tomorrow.
